Aspen Heights Calgary Retaining Wall – MaxumStone was chosen for a very large residential development in the the North West region of Calgary Alberta. The large sweeping terraced walls wrap the South West corner of the Aspen Heights development raising the property and allowing for more homes to be built. The average home price is in the Millions of dollars so aesthetics was an important factor in selecting the proper retaining wall system.

The MaxumStone random boulder face was chosen for it aesthetics and function.  The hollow core allowed for some creative Engineering. Green walls were planted into the terraces and shrubs are planted into the hollow core. The top terrace has a fence built directly into the hollow core once again maximizing the use of land.  The maximum height with all three terraces  reaches a significant 26′ (8.0m). Filter fabrics were used for soil seperation and washed rock for drainage in the hollow cores. The Aspen Height Calgary Retaining wall MaxumStone block product allowed for trees to be planted which softens the look of a large concrete wall. A total of approximately 6,000 SF (557 sq m) of face area was installed.
